Media Relations Specialist [Switzerland]

Job Summary:
This role provides specialist support to the Global Head of Communications on Public Relations and Financial Media relations, ensuring that relationships with media companies and interested investor relations stakeholders are nurtured and strengthened to enable positive relations and coverage.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Independently manage and respond to media inquiries, both online and print publications, providing accurate and timely information
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with journalists, editors, producers, and other relevant media professionals to secure media coverage for the group
  • Develop a good understanding of global and DACH - Germany, Austria, and Switzerland regional press infrastructure
  • Manage investor relations communications as directed by group CEO and senior management
  • Pitch stories to media proactively seeking opportunities for media coverage Create compelling press releases, media kits to promote the groups initiatives, products, and events
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Commercial to ensure consistent messaging across all communications
  • Conduct daily media monitoring using online monitoring tools Organize and coordinate media events
  • Train and prepare spokesperson for media engagements ensuring they deliver clear and effective messages
  • Act as a Spokesperson for the group representing the organization in interviews and media interactions when necessary
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continually improve media relations strategies.
Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism or related field
Work Experience:
  • Proven work experience as a Media Specialist or similar of at least 3 years, either in-house or agency
  • Demonstrated success in securing media coverage and building relationships with Journalists in the DACH region
  • Strong understanding of media landscapes including print, broadcast, online, and social media
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with crisis communications and the ability to manage challenging situations in the media
Technical Skills:
  • Strong written skills in German and English, clear, concise, appropriate to market/region/publication
  • Excellent financial understanding and a proven ability to work with analysts
  • Proficiency in using media monitoring and analysis tools to track coverage and measure results
Language / Communication Skills:
  • Native German speaker, Swiss German preferred
  • Good working proficiency level of English
  • Any other European languages an asset
  • Exceptional interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with media professionals
